Physical Therapy for Aches, Pains, and Injuries

Good morning everyone! This week I want to talk to you about dealing with aches, pains, and injuries. This is really important because so many people are affected by chronic aches and pains throughout their lifetime.

Because no matter how healthy, active, and cautious you are, you will probably face some type of muscular, joint, or nerve pain in your lifetime.

And it gets worse the older you get.

Forget about 'bouncing back' from small aches and pains - that hasn't happened since you were in your 20s.

In some cases, a full-blown injury can occur, often from the simplest tasks in daily life, such as bending over to pick something up (and pulling something in your lower back) or routine maintanence around the house (and straining something in your elbow or shoulder).

Without proper treatment, aches and injuries can become life-long sources of pain and discomfort. I know that many of you reading this right now have chronic pains and 'problem areas' that you've dealt with for years.

I also know that many of you have lost hope of ever finding relief and have chosen to just tough it out.

You are wrong.

The body is a healing machine . . . but only when it is given the right tools to heal. Lack of exercise and activity, junk food, alcohol, and stress all prevent your body from healing itself.

And sometimes you just need to work with a professional.

To help our clients live a pain-free life, no matter what age, we partnered with a physical therapist (and personal friend of mine) earlier this year to provide physical therapy services in-house at Strength School.

Dr. Courtney Scholl provides a range of physical therapy treatments to help you identify, manage, and eliminate sources of pain in your body. She sees patients at both gyms during the week.

Here is a 5-minute video showing Dr. Courtney treating a patient for migraines, with explanations of her treatments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU9ws_gRlco

Here's what one of Courtney's patients recently told me about her experience:

Having an in-house physical therapist has been fortuitous and unquestionably the linchpin on my recovery path from nerve impingement  and scapular dyskinesis.  No doubt about it,  Dr. Courtney Scholl, has the necessary skills to target painful areas and provide appropriate therapeutic exercises.  After dealing with the pain and weakness for months, plus despite doctors and (other) PT visits,  Courtney was able to quickly pinpoint what was needed to return my shoulder to working order.  It’s comforting to know that  there is a highly educated, knowledgable, and trained physical therapist available for us to see when we have some serious aches.

If you need pain relief, please call or text Courtney and talk to her about your issue: 727-612-4004

You don't have to be a Strength School member to see Courtney - everyone is welcome.
